I am 12 years old and I commenced this year the Silver Art Awards. Earlier this year I embarked on my journey as a home educated student. It’s been great to join forces and meet other home educated students on the silver award. Being a home educated student our opportunities are slightly different so when I saw the art award being available, I jumped at the chance of enrolling as I love a space to be creative. My mother is a psychotherapist and uses art a lot in therapy and at home so I too have found it therapeutic.

I am not sure yet where this may take me but having the space to create and allow my ideas to come out in an expressive form, I feel I really need following the lockdown. It’s been tough and the silver award has been like a breath of fresh air!

It’s been quite a journey from clay making to review writing and holding an exhibition as a team I feel privileged to have shared it with the team and to learn together.
