Unit 2 - Part B
YOUR PROJECT AND LEADERSHIP ROLE
Its very exciting to be putting on my first ever art exhibition. Its difficult but also rewarding following the lockdown and its restrictions. Its nice to be doing something “normal” and “challenging” again. As a team we have sat and discussed the measures we need to take to make it as safe as possible for everyone. We also want to make it about the art also and to help make it feel like an art exhibition. In order to do this, we have had to create and discuss the risks and between us create an action plan so we are prepared as much as possible.
Risk assessment area | Notes from discussion | Notes from discussion |
---|---|---|
Crowd control /Covid | Social distancing | Social distancing and virtual tour, masks and hand sanitiser. |
Emergency Exit | Awareness where they are, nothing blocking them. | Planning the exhibition around the space keeping exits clear |
Safeguarding | Safeguarding | Agreeing who will be live on Facebook and who won’t be. |
Trip hazards | Lighting for exhibition | Keeping lights out of footpath |
Wet/damp decking outside | Alert people if it’s raining | Alert people if it’s raining |
Pottery on the Plinths | Handle with care | Only touch own pieces. |
String hanging from ceiling | Not in footpath | Not in footpath |
Medical issue | Trained staff | Have information and staff onsite. |
Doing the risk assessment was an eye opener. I learned a lot goes on “behind the scenes” of any event. I discussed with my mother if she has ever had to do risk assessments within her job and she has to do so many in order to keep everyone safe. It’s a lot of thinking and at times was scary to think “what if something happens?” but what was good was the plan to tackle this if ever something did happen. It gave reassurance and I feel its good to prepare for things. Covid certainly made me more aware of this.
Similar to my aims and action plan for my ceramic challenge. We were encouraged to do one for the leadership project. This really helped me to stay on target with my responsibilities.
